Mark IIC+ push/pulls: need help understanding them

I have a IV, not a IIC+, but I like translating pictures of Hetfield's heads and Rasmussen's notes onto my IV. My only problem is I don't seem to be able to find an in-depth explanation of what exactly all the pulls do on the C+. Like the Volume 1 affects channel 1 AND 2 gain, but does it's bright pull affect both channels as well? What exactly does the deep do? Stuff like that I can't really find a breakdown of.

If there IS a thread on this already I apologize for the clutter. Simple bulletpoints would be greatly appreciated.

I've read thru the manual before, but it can be vague in some bits.
