I have a Mark III blue stripe 50 watt head. I bought it and it came with all electro-harmonix tubes in it, three 12ax7 pre amp and two 6l6 power tubes. It sounds mushy and i have heard that this is because they are not pre-biased tubes like mesa makes for it's own amps. I have a matched pair of mesa 6l6's laying around but not extra 12ax7's.
Could i put the mesa power tubes in the amp with the electro-harmonix pre-amp tubes and somewhat solve this problem?
