Hi guys,

Could anyone tell me which slot is the cathode follower tube slot in the Mark IV?


i read that tungsols and mullard reissues cant be used in the cathode follower slot due to high voltages the tube might see.

i was about to order a set of 5 tungsols to retube the preamp.

any suggestions?

Mark series amps don't have a cathode follower. Nonetheless, the Tung Sol 12AX7 has a high failure rate on the filaments. In some cases they will start to hum withing a few hours of installing them. I'd recommend almost anything else besides them.
