Hi folks, I have a Mark 4 and am getting an audible crackle, mainly when playing lower register notes. crackle only occurs when I have the eq activated. When I disengage the eq from the signal, all is clean. I’d like to use the EQ if possible, but not an option until I can figure out what’s going on. Anyone else ever experience this, and if so, was it a simple fix, like swapping out a preamp tube?

You might want to clean the amp with something like Deoxit Gold.

I clean the tube sockets with this also. Make sure it is completely dry before you plug it back in.

Cool. Would any contact cleaner work or should it be Deoxit Gold specifically? The local Lowe’s has spray contact cleaner and deoxit isn’t readily available in my area (only online, which is about 5-7 days out for me). Also, should I run the cleaner along the eq sliders as well?

You want cleaner for electrical equipment. WD-40 makes one also.

It cleans and lubricates. You would dry out the pots if you use the wrong kind.

Use it on the sliders, pots, Jack's, switches, tube sockets, etc...pretty much everything.

I've never used this but looks like it should work fine...
