Hey guys,

I came across a big opportunity this week. A friend of mine is selling his F30 for a bargain price. I was thinking of buying it but I already have a Mark V.

I'm talking about different animals here? I know the F30s have EL84 tubes and therefore I believe they are more "british" style amps.

So... two questions...

1) How the F30 is different from the Mark Series?
2) Is the F30 a british style amp like AC30 (I love those amps)?

Thanks!

If it is a good price I would go for it. I own an F-30. I have not one bad thing to say about it. More drive than I ever needed and the clean is fantastic. It's small and loud. As for the type of amp it is. It is an all around amp would be my best description. Small, easy to setup and has great tone at any volume level. I worked clubs for about 5 years with the one I have. I'll never sell it. I also own a Mark V. Head and two 2X12 vert. cabs. The F-30 is a little work horse and has paid for itself over and over and it was how I earned the money to buy the Mark V.
