slow forum for the F-series!
let's treat it like a therapy session...
i had the budget to buy a lonestar... but was coaxed away by the gain of the F-50... then i decided to compare the F-50 to the F-30...
i spent two hours A/B'ing the two of the them and just couldn't get the lead sounds on the 50 that i liked about the 30. (did that make sense?)
5 years later - this is still my #1 amp. and i still find inspiration in it every time i play!
recently picked up a mesa 3/4 back 112 - the big sound and darkness of that cab really complements the combo sound well... i can't get enough of playing this setup - running this thing with a TS808 (and an analogman TSsilver/mod) - i get lead tones to die for! ...and the cleans are fat, bright and full... with high output single coils i get nasty (in a good way) blues tones all day.
on the boogie board especially it seems easy to get feelings of inadequacy when my boogie is so simple and is barely fetching $500 used these days... but this amp is a monster!
so in my best stuart smalley voice - i'm proudly standing up and proclaiming -I love my F-30! - and that's ok!
