I was playing through my F-30 combo when suddenly the sound went out. The jewel light is off, and both V1 and V2 are cool and not glowing. V3 and V4, as well as the two EL84s, are all still glowing and receiving juice.

Anybody know what's going on?

Wierd. I'd say fuse because the jewel lite is out, but you have power. I'd check the bias voltages on V1 and V2. I have no idea how the might connect to the jewel lite.

Have you tried just replacing V1 and V2?

Yep, the first thing I did was to replace both V1 and V2. No success. :-(

Just checked the F50 schematic. V3 and V4 heaters are AC, right off the power transformers. V1 and V2 (and the pilot light) have a rectified supply (probably to keep the AC hum down in the front-end). It's made of 4 diodes and 3 capacitors. I'll bet one of the caps died. You can find the components by following the leads from the light. All 7 components connect to them. I think the diodes are all in one package (X4, 1N4007), and the caps are C1, C2 and C3.
