Hey Y'all, so excited to have my first mesa but definately needs retubing, just bought a retube kit from eurotubes but scared sh#tless to screw up the install, not really worried about the preamp tubes but the power tubes with those wire retainers worry me :? . Any tips or instructions would be awesome thanks...

First set the amp on a table and remove the silver bar that goes across the back of the amp. Then while steadying the tube with one hand, gently pop of the spring retainer with another. Gently wiggle the tube while pulling downward and the tube should come out.
Never twist or manhandle the tubes, the spring will be snug but as long as you don't use channel locks you should be fine.
With the EL84's there is no tube guide like 6L6's so you will have to align the pins to fit in the tube socket. Just look at the bottom of the tube and you can see where there is a pattern of tube pins, these have to align with the socket so take a few seconds to look things over. Gently insert the tube into the socket and put the spring retainer back in place, along with the silver bar.
Power up and let the amp sit on standby for about five minutes or so, and then switch to play. leave the amp in "Play" mode for a bit and look to see if any of the tubes glows red. If nothing is glowing red and no static noise, you are good for another year or so.
Peace
