100/60 watt question

On the F-100, should you put the amp in standby to switch between 100 watts and 60 watts?
Or does it matter.
The manual doesn't cover this.
 
It shouldn't matter, but it is always a good habit to use standby when adjusting an amps power section when turned on (Old habit from the road).
