I'm getting an F50 tomorrow in a trade..I'm also working a deal on a Avatar 2x12 cab to set under it. Can I hook up the amps speaker and the Avatar cab at the same time? If so, how do I go about that?

Yeah you probably can. I have a mesa f 50 combo with an avatar 8 ohm cab under it. I plug the cab and the speaker in the combo into the two 4 ohms inputs. I've not cranked it like this yet but so far it sounds pretty good between the open back of the combo and the closed back of the avatar.
 
As long as the ohms match then you should be good to go. The F-50 combo has an 8-ohm speaker. If you extension cab is 8-ohms then you unplug the F-50 speaker from the 8-ohm jack and plug it and the ext cab into the 4-ohm jacks.
