Because of the cathode follower on (I think) V3 and V4 would a 12dw7 be a good choice?

Or do I need to stick to the original compliment.
 
Contacted Mesa and they promptly replied with something to the affect 'we recommend a 12ax7 in all positions on the Stiletto Ace'.

So there you have it. :lol:
 
ya', I thru' in some fresh re-issue Tung-Sol tubes and we're good for now. It still had the original '06/'07 (date codes from various parts state as late as the week of Christmas DEC/06) and nothing had been touched until I got a hold of it.

It sounds better now and definitely a little quieter.
