Hey guys,

I was quite frustrated with the gain on my Mesa Stiletto, until I decided to roll back the gain at about 9-10 o'clock and open up master and get some break up / gain the old school way... the result was suprisingly good. The thing started to sound like an vintage plexi!!!

Has anyone had similar experiences?

The sample settings don't actually mention this, but this is absolutley crucial IMO...

At low volumes, with the gain opened up at noon or so, the amp sounded way too thin to me!

Master at noon, gain at 9, treble at 8-9, presence at 9, bass at 2-3, mid at noon... fat plexi sound! Dynamic, cleans up nicely... (ch1 crunch, or ch2 crunch / tite gain)

Similar, yes. I paired my Stiletto next to my Marshall AFD100 to try to match the Mesa to the Marshall. My settings are very similar to yours, perhaps with a little more gain and presence.
