I have noticed something odd. My early 90s dual rec and my new 2004 Stiletto Stage I both have a sharp increase in volume from 0-3. I mean from low to windows shaking. From 3+ the volume changes very little.
My question is why?
I am looking to perform the FD mod and one of the items to change is the volume pot. A 1meg pot is recommended.
I have read that linear pots are more gradual and audio pots. Would putting in a linear pot remove the sharp increase in volume?
I may get both and see what happens. Changing the volume pot is the easiest part of the FD mod.
