Tranny ID on an early Triple Recto?

Post by SOMMS » Thu Sep 27, 2018 5:02 pm

Howdy,

One of the recto's I've got is an early triple from 92 (Rev F - purchased from Silverwulf!). From what I can tell these either had the Mark III output transformer or the MarkIV transformer.

Is there an easy way to tell which transformer I have?

Thanks!

I've owned so many, there's plenty of my old amps making their rounds...

Which amp do you have? It could have either the 561136 or 561140 in it. They're pretty much sonically interchangeable.

Silverwulf!

Howdy buddy!

Hey man it's the old 92 triple recto chrome face - #1382. She sounds awesome - I was just wondering about the transformers as there has been plenty of discussion on the board recently about them.

My understanding is that the early dual rectos either had the mark III or mark IV transformers...I was wondering if it was the same for the triple rectos?

Is it possible to have an early triple rec with a mark III tranny? If so how would I tell?

Hope all is well bud!
