I'm looking at getting one or the other. I've heard there might be a slight sound difference between the two. I know the Rectoverb has the reverb on board. Any insight is appreciated.

I had both at the same time. No difference I could hear UNLESS you get the RV25 combo. The combo cabinet affects the tone vs a 2x12 recto cab, as you would expect.
 
Thanks everyone for the input. I have a Mesa Horizontal 2x12 Recto cab and a Mesa 1x12 Closed back Widebody cab. So I should be fine with either head then.
