Replacing gem power lamp-easy?? What's involved?

Hey,

I'd like to change out the "red" gem lamp in my RK with a blue lamp.

Is it as easy as removing the front mounting hardware and plugging in the new lamp or does it require removing the chassis from the head shell?

The lens itself should be threaded. At least it is on my Ace, and many other amps. Try to unscrew it and see if that works!
This is how you'd get to the bulb to replace it, anyway.

as OLD BF Shred said, it is threaded, unscrew it. Look for replacements pilot light lense jewel for fenders in the color you want. Done.

Careful as some stores offer some cheap plastic that will not look so good with light coming through it.

Yeah, it was as easy as just unscrewing it.

Now to pick a color and order one. Still think I'm going with blue.

I used to own a Dual Rec Rackmount with polished chrome chassis and it came

with a blue gem lamp. Looked great!
