I tried a W/D/W with my Roadster & a Recto 2:100.

Yup, VERY LOUD!

Although I really didn't seriously pursue it, I wasn't too impressed initially.

It was really overkill, and way too much gear to lug. I don't know of any place I've ever played that would of benifited from it IMHO.

I'm going to give it a go again one of these days .......

Maybe a couple of Mini Recto's would be more sensible?

Hello,

What I'd like to know is if the tone is way off. I'll be sending just "wet" fx signal. Will it negatively affect the tone or will it do a good job at replicating the effected recto tone?

Both amps are pretty much 6L6 powered(even though the RK offers 34's). Plus the 2:90 has those switchable features like "Deep, 1/2,etc... If the 2:90 happens to lack the lows of a Road King, maybe the Deep selection may bring it closer?

This is what I'd like to know.

I have not attempted a w/d/w with my roadster and 290, but having run my quad through the roadster and 290 separately, the tone is different. An eq could compensate, and you may like the difference, but they are different enough that you will notice.
