Hi,

Has anyone measured plate/filament/bias voltages in Bold and Spongy modes?
According to the patent in Spongy mode you should get 25% of mains voltage reduction but this will put filament voltage way too low.

No, not as much as that. It's a just over 15% reduction, equivalent to dropping the standard 120V to 100V, or 240V to 200V.

It does reduce *all* the amp voltages, including the filament voltage, but this isn't harmful. 'Cold stripping' doesn't occur until lower than this.

That's correct. (84%)

Here are the power tube plate voltages from my Tremoverb:

Diode/Bold: 440
Tube/Bold: 420
Diode/Spongy: 370
Tube/Spongy: 355

The bias voltages will fall by the same amount. (Not quite relevant to measure mine since it has a bias adjustment.)
