re-tube single rectifier:before preamp ora power amp

first of all,i'm writing form italy so sorry if my english isn't correct

i want to retube my single rectifier,for the sound is best retube the preamp or the power amp?

That depends on many things. Basically, if your amp is getting microphonic or is feedingback uncontrolably, its most likely your preamp tubes. If the amp is getting hot, loosing power(volume), loosing low end, or getting mushy sounding - its most likely the power tubes you would want to change. These are just a few symptoms of tube failure. If you are not having any of these problems and you are just looking to enhance the sound of your amp, do some research online for the desciptions of the different tube types and brands. You will find that simply changing the tube type or brand is the first and easiest modification you should make to your amp.
