Ola Englund tone...

Post by Golden1984 » Fri May 31, 2013 3:39 am

I`m sure most of you heard demos of Ola Englund, who puts lots of amp demos on Youtube. His sound is just amazing and very similar on every amp.

I tried many times, I`m still trying but I find it not possibile for me to get THAT tone out of my MK IV with single SM57.
I always get tone from other part of space, totally different frequences than Ola does.

Anyone has similar problems?
Maybe someone knows how to get THAT tone?

Have you thought about asking him? I've watched his videos as well(especially the Mark V stuff) and I just love the way he plays...

I think he is using more than one mic. Sometimes I use. SM57 and a R-121 or a MD421 together.
With that line up I both cover the high and low frequencies.

Mesa Boogie Mark V 25, Kemper Amp.
Sterling by Music Man JP100D, LTD MH-350R (Crunch Lab & LiquFire), Ibanez EGEN-8 (DiMarzio Evolutions), Washburn N2 (modded to a N4), Washburn N1 (Gotoh tremolo, DiMarzio JBJ bridge, DiMarzio '59 neck), Dean C350F.
