Hey there I'm a new lonestar owner and I'm needing some advice on mic type and placement for recording. My setup is as follows

Gibson Les Paul Standard (stock)
Mesa Lonestar v2 2x12 with EL34's

In front of the amp I'm running

Keeley 2 knob compressor
Catalinbread Chili Picoso
BB Preamp
OCD v4

And through the effects loop

Retrosonic Chorus
Totuga Mai Tai Phaser
E-Wave Flanger
Eventide Time Factor

I don't know if the pedalboard setup is important but there it is.

Welcome to the Board!

And I guess my first question is what kind of music do you play (or will be micing)?

Well primarily rock. Along the lines of stuff like 3doors down, shinedown that sort of stuff. I always done all my recording direct through a Line6 Vetta 2 combo so I am a mic virgin LOL.
