Anyone done it? If you're not familiar, it's basically recording something totally dry, then reamping it while in an ambient environment. Anyone have any tips? Experiences you'd like to share? What I'm looking for in my home town is a parking garage in a quiet, uptown place to go there at like midnight to do my work. Or even a building in construction with a long hall. Who should I talk to about this? I was almost thinking a realtor. Someone who knows the property around here. I don't know. Anyhow, stories and experience is welcome.

go for it and experiment.

but try not to use too many mics. Just with 2 of them you may get into serious phasing problems.

Yeah I think I'm going to try it in a school gym. I'm already looking at a potential for horrible phase issues. I'm going to have a DI signal, a close mic, and a room mic. Not to mention I'm layering the tracks. (One in class A and one in class AB.)
