Yeah for 80 bucks I just couldn't resist. I was about to pull the trigger on the plug-in version of Gearbox (Line6) so I can re-amp stuff in Ableton but this looks like it will do the trick.

Nothing like a real amp but for recording stuff at home in the middle of the night this thing is going to be awesome.

I messed around with this thing a bit tonight and I'm pretty impressed with it. Definitely more 'tube' sounding than the Line 6 stuff.. at least to my ears.

I'd still prefer to record with a real amp but I don't think I'll get away with that at 1 in the morning.

Well I'd much rather record with a real amp with a good mic and a good mic preamp but that isn't going to be happening in my apartment anytime soon.

Like I said... if you *need* to record direct this thing is the bees knees for 80 clams.
