Currently I am micing my cab to get my recorded tone but I was reading somewhere here that someone also used the recording out in addition to the mic and blending them together. That sounds interesting and I'd like to try it.. however I'm not sure how to get that signal into my laptop.

I have this unit which I think I can use for this purpose:

Any ideas?

Use one of the mic inputs for the mic and one of the line inputs from the record out on the Mark IV. I found that they really compliment each other really well. I double track them and have take 1 mic 45% R and take 1 line 100% L then have take 2 mic 45% L and take 2 line 100% R, really gives a great sound when panned over each other like that, makes it sound more uniform while having a nice spread at the same time.
