Mesa participating in the Boogie board forum!

Post by Authorized Boogie » Wed Sep 08, 2010 5:01 pm

Hello Fellow Boogie fans -

Mesa has been wanting to engage in the forum community here on the Boogie Board and elsewhere for quite some time and we are finally now in a position to be able to and looking forward to contributing to the amazing forum here at Grailtone and it's many knowledgeable and Boogie savvy members.

Keeping in mind that tone, guitar playing, musical preferences and everything in between is very subjective, we'll do our best to just sticking to helping people trying to figure out amp problems or issues that they may be experiencing and offering Boogie's specifics for any information being shared that may not be accurate.

Finally, regarding Mesa Customer Service, we humbly suggest that anyone that can taking advantage of the wealth of knowledge available to all Boogie players through Mesa's Customer Service department definitely make the call. It's a small department consisting of 3 dedicated guitarists/musicians/Boogie fanatics who, together, represent over 25 years of experience with Mesa products. Being that there are only 3 full time Customer Service Reps, sometimes the call lines get jammed (especially on Mondays after a weekend) which is why we offer customer service on a call back basis. Leave your number and a good time to call back and someone WILL get back to you. We are currently unable to accomodate email support at this time but we take pride in offering comprehensive and helpful service and strive to take care of our customers like we like to be taken care of regarding our own musical purchases. If you ARE able to call, you can be assured of getting very thorough service from us by calling 707 778 6565, Monday through Thursday, 9AM-5PM Pacific Standard Time. Customers outside of North America are encouraged to contact the Mesa distributor in your country/area first. Distributor-by-country information can be found here: http://www.mesaboogie.com/US/Dealers/exp_select_2.php

We're looking forward to being a part of this excellent community and we are open to any concerns anyone may have or any suggestions anyone would like to offer for us to contribute value here.

Cheers,

Authorized Boogie :D

Nice.

I noticed Boogie's website moving forward in leaps and bounds over the last year or so. I take it that this is part of it?
Ignore the hype and trust your ears. Play more, buy less = better tone.

Maybe there should be a separate section within the forum specifically geared towards Mesa's intent as per the original post, plus the section will be controlled judiciously by a moderator, just a thought...

EDIT: My first hand experience with Mesa's customer service has nothing but stellar and a positive experience. They do call back and are very very helpful.

Hey Gummx -

Thanks for the reply. I can tell you that it is our primary intent to generally reach out in possible amp problem/failure situations and get Boogie players/customers the help they need to get back up and running and hopefully learn a bit about their amps and the company in the unfortunate event of an amp down. Beyond that, for the most part, we'd prefer to let people carry on as they have here for years already. It's a great place that many of us have enjoyed reading for years.

We value people's opinions in preferences in something as personal as music, guitars and amplifiers and while this forum consists largely of Boogie fans, we want the forum to remain free-thinking and we are sensitive to anyone feeling our presence possibly changing the vibe here. I'd meant to comment on a few posts we'd looked over recently where there were amp problems that came up but I got sideswiped with a project this afternoon and couldn't get to it. Tomorrow is another day.

Anyway - open to suggestions and perhaps after a few posts throughout, our intent/approach will be a bit more clear and can be refined to work well here. We'll appreciate any input or suggestions as we go...

It would be very interesting for Authorized Boogie :D to begin by debunking the myths and various pieces of misinformation that inevitably crop up on the fabulous interweb.
I won't suggest where to start - I'd much rather get Mesa's POV. :D
Whatever AB contributes, this will be great! Welcome!

Welcome .... :D
Huge fan of Mesa, still have three. My experiences with Mesa have always been good over the last 28 years. Very good to see you here.
The fact that Stephen appears from nowhere, is sentenced to death in an emotional public trial without anyone interfering at all and is then altogether forgotten as if nothing happened, is already suspicious.

Greetings Earthling.

Look forward to information exchanges straight from the home of tone.

Would be cool if you had a name. The many manufacturers that post and support on Rig Talk do so. It is very cool to be able to talk to Peter Diezel.

Peace Out!!

How many signatures would it take to bring back the STR-454, STR-442, Eminence MS-12 and the EVM-12L as options when ordering a new MESA amp? I know that it's a longshot, BUT................

Hey All -

Many thanks for the warm welcome. As mentioned, I/We are looking forward to adding value to an already great resource and community and a tip of the hat from Boogie for the founders of the Board, mods and many excellent contributors helping people get a leg up on their music and their tone, learning about amps and tubes and all the bits in between.

A little backround - for the moment, I (Tien Lawrence) am tasked with getting inside the Matrix here 8) although its possible that others in Customer Service and Boogie in general will be involved depending on how the whole thing plays out. Boogie is seeking to raise its reputation for service and is trying to breask its web presence in general to more of the 21st Centry (yeah - we're a little slow but its because we use tubes when everyone else uses chips, I guess).
I suspect I've spoken to a lot of you over my years here and looking forward to engaging via interwebzzzzzzz...

A bit more backround - this last Tuesday was my 16 year Anniversary here at Boogie. I started on the day after Labor Day in 1994. I am not a technician but I have interfaced between customers and techs for all those years so I know a few things about amps and a quite a bit about Boogie's. As an example of my technical limitations, I don't read schematics (which will provide some reference to technical depth for those here who do - I know, I know - I should really take it up a notch... but I'm pretty good at diagnosing amps and especially good at helping people get downed amps going or at least determining its time for techs. Looking forward to helping here with things like this especially.

I've tried to be the layman's interface to the tech world of an antiquated technology;Vacuum tubes. I/we hope to offer some of that here.

Thanks again for the cool welcome. As for Svetlana's - that's on them. EV's - we'd love to see again. Not quite there. Other cool speaker stuff always in the works though. Stay tuned and rock on!
