Volume dropping in and out

Post by MichaelGuitar » Thu Oct 22, 2015 8:57 pm

I was playing my triple rectifier the other day and as I was playing the volume from the amp was swelling up and down in a random way. I thought it was my foot switch since I was getting static from it. I removed it from the amp. It hasn't occurred again. Then, I brought my switch to a music store and tried it on a dual rectifier. It worked fine. A couple of people told me that I should replace the tubes. I will if that is the case but I have a JCM and had the same problem. I checked the voltage and I'm getting 120 watts... Is there any way to do some tests on my amp. I have a digital multi-meter. Any ideas to find out what's going on ?

Try running a patch cable in the effects loop - sometimes the jacks get dirty - if the patch Cable gets rid of it try cleaning the jacks- I hope that’s it simple fix good luck
