These tubes were far and above the loudest, had the most gain and put all other tubes I tried to shame, but what are they? I called the number listed on the tube, 1-888-2amplify, and it was a dead end. I googled all the terms and found nothing useful. I went on different tube store sites and found zip. I'd buy more if I could because they made a startling difference. Made in China.

that's a standard Shuguang 12AX7. You can tell from the metal clip holding the paired triodes together along with the triple mica construction. Could be the A or B version. Some are marked A or B on the bottom of the tube, others are not.

Mesa used to use those back in the late 80's through the 90's. However, the tubes did not have a round halo getter, it was a square foil getter. Probably my favorite preamp tubes as I still have 10 of them that are in great condition. I use them once in a while.
