Noob question: how do you mark a tube?

Post by Mr.P » Fri Jun 13, 2014 4:15 am

I have a bunch of jj ecc83s, which look virtually identical. But I prefer the sound of some than others, how can I safely mark a tube? Can I put a sticker, or write on the glass?

A sharpie works. I have tubes I bought from Doug's tubes, I have seen both sharpie and stickers on the base between the pins.

Sharpie is fine on the base or the glass. It'll rub off of the glass pretty easily, though.
