Awesome.

If you take out the Hot Plate and turn the Output volume down to the decibal level of your set up, will it sound completely different?... as in.... worse?

I guess I'm asking.... how necessary is the Hot Plate?

Anymore sound clips?

Thanks for the listen...

I think it's better with the Hot Plat and the amp cranked... IMO... the Gain is pretty low but it'not short on distortion or tone. Definitely a different tone with the Master and Vol lower... with the Vol lower, I have to turn the gain up... IMO not as toneful...

I have two more clips with my DR

How benificial would a hotplate be on say a Mesa Boogie Single Recto for playing in my bedroom? Do you lose any tone?

the most non-intrusive settings are -4db and -8db. I use -8db the most. there's always trade-offs and yes theres some tone sacrifice, especially with greater attenuation, but for bedroom I'd use it.

every -3db is 1/2 the power so:

-4db is a little less than 1/2 the power or .398

-8db is a little more than 1/8 the power or .158

the formula is 10 ^ (-db/10) example: -3db -> 10 ^ (-3/10) = .5

-8 db is still loud. for bedroom, you'll probably need to run it at -16db, which does make a difference in the tone.
