i mean, i've been working on this thing for a long time...

and i thought it was all ready, but i was wrong!
i'm having Falcon Eddy Mastering Studio do the final mastering on this..
and thru the process (falcon eddy is being SO patient), i keep finding things i just have to change,
and i guess the lesson is, when producing yourself,
get as far away from it as you can get!!!

having someone else do the mastering sure helps me wear the other hat.
i've been mastering my own material for almost 10 years now,
i don't have any problem allowing someone else i trust to do this process.
usually, when mastering my own material, i hear things that the mastering brings out, that i may or may not like better than the pure mix..... and i adjust the mix accordingly....
i the case of this project, when i made the decision to use outside mastering, i bypassed the very important step, of putting mastering compression and brickwall limiting across my master buss to just CHECK my mixes before bouncing them without those things.....
i lost an opportunity to 'fix' my mixes pre mastering....
and THAT is what turned me around!!
