Here is a few comparison videos of my C+ SRG and 2 Mark lll's and a studio pre-amp/simul-stereo 295 set up. Metallica style with a very generic GEQ setting through EV thiele enclosures.
 
I appreciate the videos and comparisons, but honestly, the recording quality and having the presence at 10 on both amps makes it difficult to listen to...
 
I used the recommended settings for metal in the Mark lll manual, only the lead drive was at 5. The 6600 slider is touchy as hell on all marks, I never have the GEQ a straight up smily face. When I use the SP/295 rig I use the GEQ as a lead boost with a very slight curve. For the next post, I'm going to set up a shure SM57 and dial in "my" sound.
 
Good luck! I know these things are tough to record properly. In the room they always sound huge but its tough to catch on tape
