Ok guys, I have been working on this rack now by myself, and I will be finishing the cleaning up of the wires, and wire ties wherever they might need to be, in a few days. I have just bought a ROLAND SDE-2500. Waiting for it now in transit. This unit will replace the ROLAND SDE-2000, that is located right above the almost blank space(wireless), above the power amp. I needed the SDE2500 because none of the other Roland SDE delays(1000,2000,3000) have midi control, and my rig is all about control. From my FX1 pedalboard, and the SWITCHBLADE GL, along with all of the other units here, there will be any tone you can imagine. I am now in the SWITCHBLADE/WINBLADE programming stages. I just wanted to share some before and after wiring pictures here. In this 1st picture, you will see my rack once it was assembled, but using all my various older cables from every manufacture, all different lengths, and a total black spaghetti wire mess if you had to ever troubleshoot any type of breakdown, on the fly. So in the 2nd picture, you will see what the rig back looks like now. All of the powercords, with the exception of 2 units, are run in front of the rear rack rails(towards the middle of the rack), This keeps the power path away from the audio signal. Also I color coded the cables in the following manner: Red cables all go to preamp in/outs, Blue cables all go to effect sends/returns, Orange cables are all switching/relay triggers, Black cables are mainly guitar ins, and power amp in cables. The cables are all Canare GS6, with a 8 channel Mogami Snake fior my effects pedalboard. There is only 1 cable going from MY FX1 pedalboard to my rack. Thru thru this cable, my FX1 and its 3 or 4 continuous controls(that I have yet to wire up, it will give me complete control of this complex setup. Not only that, but my FX1 is phantom powered now(A big thanks to Mario), so no need to also figure out where to get power to my pedalboard, and makes for a very clean setup look up front onstage. Pic 3 is front of rack now, will change this week with removal of SDE2000 for the SDE2500 midi unit, other than that the rack will always look like this from the front view. Picture 4 is kinda what the rig looks like lit up in the dark, tho my camera took a very crappy picture, sorry. 5th picture down is my rack shown with the 2 pedalboards, and the last picture is my cabinets I will use, along with my EV 1 12" Thiele cabinets. Am I done yet? I hope so. My roadies are going to kill me soon!
