hi all,

i am currently shopping for a new amp. i tried the rectoverb and the f-50 or 30 i dont remember. anywho.... i would like to hear some demos playing some BLS,Metalica,Vai,Satch or anything similar. please post your amp and settings as well.

Thanks

you need a mark 4. great vesatility. great clean channel. great hi-gain. great lead tones. metallica used a mark2c+, but those things are vintage and rare. however, the 4 is voiced extremely similar to the c+ and will nail those tones very closely. itll also give you vai tones kinda things witht the lead channels.

Thanks Jargaguy i enjoyed all of them do you remember your settings how you recorded etc

Elpelotero,

I know where there is a Mk IV its kinda a cream colored head for 800 or a grand i dont remember do you think thats a good deal?

Hey all. I'm new to the forum. Long time boogie user.

If you're looking for a heavy sound, I use a Strategy 400 with a peavy (yes, Peavey) Rockmaster preamp. No sonic maximizers, no effects racks, just a preamp and power amp. The sound is huge and if you're a working musician, you'll have all the power you'll ever need. For an example go to;

listen to the free song demo bits and you'll agree.

thats an amazing deal!! if iwere you id take that immediately. 800!! those go for close to 2000 new. i assure you, if you buy this amp, spend a month with it dialing in good settings, you wont be dissappointed. it covers all ground without sacrificing tone, and puts the mesa mark on the sound.

Heres a little enter sandman.

check out enter sandman2

I used:

LTD KH-602 with EMG 81/60
Mesa Rocket 44 with Mesa 2x12

And I had a Boss CS-3 and MXR 10 band EQ in the effects loop.

Recorded with a poor mic though.
