I currently play a 2002 triple rec w/ standard 4x12 cab. I have Les Paul Studio, PRS Custom 24 and an Ibanez w/ emg 81 and 85. I really would like to build a world class rig but not having too much electronic background or a crap load of money to throw away, i just wanted to see if someone could help me out....

I'm looking for a cross between Godsmack and Sevendust tone.. I get pretty close with the Les Paul... It seems that i have to really crank the gain to get the awesome palm mute "chunk". I was thinking of purchasing an ashley parametric eq.. I also have the ground control pro system..

Can someone help with some ideas to start my rig???

Well, if funding is limited you'll want to do alot of research to ensure you get the best bang for your buck. Here's a bit of a start;

http://guitargeek.com/rigview/369/ 0 Tony Rombola

John's rig is basically a pitchshifer, wah, and noisegate....

Tony's rig is basically the looped pedals, but from what I remember of Godsmack's music you'd probably get the best bang for your buck with an EQ, the NS-2, and a delay of some sort.

But to get the best palm mute chunk, I'd set your gain for 12:00, your channel master at 10:00, and your master output somewhere between 11:00 and 1:00.

not that money is limited.... just that i've done some research and it's kinda limited as far as knowledge of rack gear and what is really needed. I appreciate the info and i hope to find the tone i'm after !!
