Hey everyone!
I am chasing after getting the "Metallica Sound"... JH one.
I own a Dual Rec, TS9, and a Boogie 5 Band GEQ.
I know, that the early Metallica is all about Mark amps, but this is not what I have...
I am looking to get James' live tone, and some of the Black Album tones as well.
I am also considering buying the Diezel VH-4 Pedal, which I can use in the loop to maybe get some of his live tone.
Thanks everyone!

Re: Metallica Sound with Dual Rec
You won't get the sound of the Black album from a Rectifier. The Mark and Rectifier amps sound too different.
I got these settings directly from their tech back in the day....
These settings are taken from their amps at a show...

The fact that Stephen appears from nowhere, is sentenced to death in an emotional public trial without anyone interfering at all and is then altogether forgotten as if nothing happened, is already suspicious.

That is so cool man thank you!
I will check them!
I know that the Black Album is all about Mark, buy maybe the GEQ can help a bit.

Let me know what you think. I have been messing with the settings on my Tremoverb a lot lately.

Re: Metallica Sound with Dual Rec
Graphic EQ can be used to massage ANY tone, but a 5 band graphic EQ is an axe, when what you really need is a scalpel.
The more bands in the EQ, the better.
I use a 31 band (1/3 octave) graphic EQ, an Alesis DEQ-230 in my case.
Anything a 5 band EQ can do, a 31 band EQ can do MUCH better. It's a precision tone shaping tool that has capabilities that nothing else in your signal chain can even come close to matching.
