Mesa Boogie M3 Carbine Transistor

Post by M3Mitch » Mon Jun 02, 2014 12:33 am

I thought my M3 the best amp in the world till a Silicon Plastic Power Transistor decided to fall off of it's perch and in turn BBQ'd my 15 inch Eminence speaker. That's $180 AUS for a new speaker plus whatever someone is going to ask to re attach the Transistor and probably a 4 week wait.
I feel much safer now using my old faithful GK400 RB. Never let me down and it is about 34 years old.
Decided not to buy a new Powerhouse 410 now that I know Mesa gear is not the reliable Bass amp I thought it was. What a disappointment. My Berringer 210 cab was connected when it pulled this stunt and it was not affected and i had it for 8 years without a problem. Think the new 410 will be a cheap Berringer. They are great sounding cabs and about $1000.00 cheaper than the Powerhouse.
