Hi, first post here...
I recently got a used Mpulse 600 but the head had not been installed in the Mesa casing that it usually comes in- so I got ahold of one. Ive been trying to figure out for a while how to install the head but im having a hard time with it. The problem is that I cant seem to remove the middle piece of wood inside the case. Please see the pictures...

The head simply will not fit in there with the piece in the middle, I have also tried removing the long screws that can be seen in the picture but the piece of wood still wont budge and i'm not sure what to do. Does anyone have experience with this case?
