Whenever I listen to flanger sound-bytes, it's playing Van Halen or Heart style stuff. I want more of Clutch's-"House that peterbilt" flanging. Heavy phsycdelic distortion flanging.
The EH-flangers seem to go after a totally different sound. One band that was openning for COC a few months back had this guitarist hitting the sound perfect, aside from being a horrible guitarist. He had a pretty simple pedalboard with the full-sized MXR flanger. Best I can tell, Clutch uses a MXR microflanger. What other flangers hit that sound? How about the BYOC flanger and Choralflanger?
