It's not the most exciting thing, but I thought I would share some positive results. I always used a Shure SM58 mic. I mostly do backup vocals but I sing a few songs as the lead from time to time. I played a gig last week and realized my mic lacked clarity. I moved over to another mic which was a 58 Beta and it was much better so I decided it was time to upgrade. After doing some research I picked up a Telefunken M80 and the difference is night and day. I used it during a rehearsal tonight and was really happy with the difference. Much more sensitive and much more clear. By comparison the SM58 sounding like I was singing into a tin can. Just make sure your vocals and harmonies are dead on because if they're off, you're going to hear it.
