I mentioned in a different post how I get excellent 3D sound from the combination of a mesa studio pre-amp and a Simul-stereo 295 power amp driving a EV loaded Mesa road ready cabinet with the stereo inputs. It has a chimey tone that is very similar to an old Marshall yet still has a great low end drive that is a totally different tone. It almost sounds like I'm playing two guitars at once. :shock: With 12 tubes in the 295 and 5 tubes in the pre amp, I haven't even thought of tube rolling yet, but I will soon. Hendrix's live tone had great 3D quality. "Running with the Devil" by Van Halen is another great example. Eddie's early brown sound was tonally rich and complex. What do you guys think? Who else has great 3D tone?
