Another rock icon gone. Sad news.

Today we should all crank up the volume, on what ever you play through, in honor of "The Father of Loud".

Absolutely. I've been a Boogie guy for pretty much my whole playing life, but there's no question that over the years, Jim Marshall has cost me more of my hearing than any other single person.

An AP article stated the following:
"He remained a fan of heavy metal rock — and of Cuban Montecristo cigars and single malt Scotch — well into his 70s. He kept a drum set in his office."

May he rest in peace.

Oh wow, R.I.P...
Without him we wouldn't be playing the amps we take for granted nowadays.

Dimed my JVM halfstack and played Il silenzio a day after he passed. With an unintentional step up mismatch (16 ohm into 8 ohm), which could have fried the amp. The amp's fine though, I only played the melody for about 30 secs then realized my mistake. Made a secondary tribute there - his stuff can definitely take it
