OK, I'll stop. But I'm just getting started.

Yep, definitely spyro gyra, that band is sick (as in Mr. bungle level sick talented). they play lots of styles. nice list. i'm getting into some of the jam bands recently like widespread panic, phish, dave matthews (all the ones on jam on XM channel).

Thanks for the validation! Yeah, Spyro Gyra is super sick. I have seen them live a couple times, and Julio Fernandez is absolutely unbelievable on guitar. He has a real mastery of rhythm and melody, and can just rip it up. The band as a whole has been through a lot of stylistic changes. They've come a long way since Morning Dance.

I would also add Dave Stewart (of Eurythmics) to my list as another wildly talented and seemingly infinitely-flexible player.

Rippingtons is interesting in that their live act is way more rock than the studio stuff. Live in LA is a great representation of their capability. I've met Russ a couple times (as a fan, not because I have any industry involvement). He's a real player and a super nice guy.

And of course I forgot Bela Fleck. FLECKTONES!

And Pink, after watching her live DVD from Australia. Justin Derrico is SICK.

There I go again...
