They are expensive new because they are really good amps. On the used market expect to pay $150 - $180 shipped.

The Yamaha THR10 is the ultimate practice amp for me. It sounds amazing and it has all the features you need and none that you don't. It's also a bit pricey, but I think it's worth the money.
It doesn't have an FX loop, but you could probably use the Aux input with the looper somehow.
