This is actually quite belated, but I finally took a pic of my new(ish) tele. I love teles, and always wanted a really rock version. This is a Jim Root sig (MIM) with EMG81/60. I've never had a guitar with active pups before, so this is all new to me.

Out of the box the setup was a disaster. I fixed that easily enough and strung it with 0.010s, and it rips pretty well. Plays well, has good feel. The controls are actually well thought-out, though the volume gets in the way for me. I have a ways to go to figure out the pickups. They are actually not terribly high output, but very clear and quiet, so I can use lots of gain. So far I have been leaving it in Drop-D.

Keeper, if for no other reason than it plays well enough and looks great with the flat black paint :D

Very nice. I need to add a tele to my collection. Enjoy playing it.

Thanks!

I have 3 teles, and another on the way.

A former band mate had one of those. He got great sounds out of it, even for the blues and classic rock that we were playing.
