So, I'm sick of paying $80 a pop for a basic setup. I would love to learn how to set up my own guitars, but it can be a bit tough to learn. I'm looking for
- Basic tips of setting up a guitar with an Edge III (Ibanez) floating tremolo
- Videos on how to set up guitars
- Things to avoid

Thanks!

Check out Dan Erlewine's Guitar Player Magazine Repair books for general set ups.

As for you tremolo, not sure. I can't recall where I read something on how to set up a Floyd Rose, Floyd Rose type. :?

This is a pretty fantastic guide to doing complete set ups. This goes double for Ibanez/anything with an FR type bridge.

Dan Earlywine sells a book called "Make you guitar play great" get that and your almost home. I started off doing guitar repairs for the same reasons about 20 years ago, but at least I was lucky enough to have someone teach me a lot (The same repair guy I was sick of paying, as a matter of fact)
Plus you will be able to set up your guitars the way you like them. Also, hit up You tube, there is a ton of stuff there.
Be patient and good luck;
