OK, so now i now where some of you guys/gals started. Now - new Q.

If you could have any guitar in the world what would it be?

Keep in mind this is hypothetical so you could have:

Jimmy Pages Les Paul

or SRV's Strat

Mine would be John Petrucci's Double Neck EBMM. Used on the recent tour.

I want Jimmy Page's doubleneck. That, and Richie Sambora's doubleneck Taylor acoustic that's on display at the Rock Hall in Cleveland.

I don`t want anyone famous` guitar. But there are 3 I wish I could get back that I sold back in the day.

1: my 1st Les Paul. It was a `78 Deluxe
2: my 1st Gibson Flying V...1981
3: my 1976 Strat.

I still think about em. *sniffle*

I'd want a custom shop Les Paul Studio. I'd like it built to the exact same specs as the high end LPs, but painted satin black, no fret markings (except for something cool at the 12th fret), and no binding.

This in a neck-through, and with a 7th string.

For memorabilia reasons, I'd like Jimmy Pages Tele that he used for the first Zep album, and with the Yardbirds.
or SRV's #1....
But for me, I'd like a guitar I tried out and let go at my local shop. It was a 1968 Gibson LP Custom re-issue, with a wild flame top, and clearcoat. That was the "finest" guitar I ever played, and still am amazed that I let her go.... They picked her up at NAMM in 2002 or 2003.
****... What a fool! :(
ax.

Custom Shop Schecter Les Paul. One 6 and one 7 string.
See thru black, SD pickups, string thru body, plus much more.
Kinda like a single cut S-1 elite.

An original 58 Korina Flying V
Randy Rhodes' Black Jackson V
Zakk Wylde's 'Grail'

As far as 'playing' guitars, I could build pretty much anything I'd want.

That clear flame is awesome.... Where'd you pick it up? If you say Eastcoast, I'll just die!
What a beauty, and your others are equally beautiful.
What a lucky guy.

I got it on Ebay from a Philadelphia address, originally came from a store in New Jersey according to Gibson.

I would get the Ken Lawrence Explorer, put it behind glass and hang it up on a wall.

For playing I would get:
Jackson SL2H Soloist
Gibson Les Paul Standard

I'd love to have my old epiphone LP custom with seymour duncans back.
it was the ultimate shred guitar. :(

Afew years back I wandered into a little music store and hanging on the wall amongst all the import s was an all gold Gibson Les Paul Standard, 1956. I casually as the owner how much and he replied $600. Of course I only had about $35.00 in my jeans, so I chatted with the old timer for awhile and he asked if I had another guitar to trade and a some cash and he might do a deal I said I had a nice shiney Yamaha 335 acoustic guitar at home and I could come up with $350. bucks by the end of the day. He said I'll hold it till closing. I went home got the guitar and called a couple friends and borrowed the cash, headed back to the store, looked up on the wall and it was GONE.
It turns out the old geezer decided to call another store and ask if the Gibson was worth anything. Well, of course they sent someone over to buy it for $650. cash and I was out of the picture.
Sure wish I had a credit card back then, and I sure wish I had that '56 all gold paul. :(
