Mark IV B stuck on gain mode on rhythm 1

Hello there Mesa lovin' Brothers and Sisters! I have a Mark IV B wide combo that stays in Rhythm 1 gain on whether the volume knob is in or out. Any ideas? Faulty knob switch seems logical. Otherwise, the amp is operating beautifully and has been for the 20 some years I've had it. Thanks.
