Just a short note here. My recently acquired hardwood combo Mark IIB is in need of a recap job. One of the 220 uF caps has vented.
Interestingly, the amp runs perfectly, no hum, no weird noises, nothing. You'd never know that it has vented caps by the way it's running.
Of course I'm not going to run it like that. New caps are on order. Sprague Atoms for the 20 and 30s, and the bias caps, F&Ts for the 220 uF main filters.
