Well - I went to the rehearsal room last night with a box of tubes in hand ready to do some investigating. And... Everything sounded spot on. Wtf like? Pretty annoying Have a full band practice tonight so will see how things go. I am now considering whether there is too much equipment drawing...

Cables are grand as far as I know. I'll have to strip rig back to basics and systematically swap out the tubes and see how I get on.

Off-hand not sure. Did a full retube from Dougstubes last year but can't recall exact specs now

Hi all, Quick Q for you: Last night at rehearsal I experienced a progressive loss of gain over the course of a couple of hours. Even at the start it sounded pretty weak to me. Ended up with a v tinny bass/gain lacking ch4 tone and almost inaudible clean tone - similar to rolling back volume...

Also - what is the difference between this and the bb-preamp other than the bb giving an additional 10dB boost?

Hi, Just wondering, when looking into the back of my roadster head, which preamp tube is V1 and which is V6? I assume the run left to right V1 - V6 when looking from the rear i.e. V1 is closest to the input jack? Thanks

Hi all, I checked out the stock tube compliment of my Roadster. It is as follows: Mesa 12AX7 Chinese 1 Mesa 6L6 GC STR 440 Mesa 5U4GB Can't blame JJ preamp tubes for tone so?

Maybe my sarcasm wasn't as clear as it should have been...

Surely a better solution would be to get a different pedal or adjust how the pedal affects how the amp sounds?

Yeah - sorry about that... I haven't been on here in a few months and tbh it seems customary here to ask the same questions over and over no matter how many times they have been answered so i said what the heck...

I will give this a go next time at practice. Before I got the OD i used to use the MXR 10 band alone as a boost and I liked it a lot. Sounds like it could be the way to go
