How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

    That's interesting; I stand corrected.

How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

For those that aren't familiar with the BB Preamp, here's a demonstration by Greg Howe: Greg Howe BB preamp demo

    TC Electronic Nova Delay ND-1

Just an update on this pedal. I found a video from an exibition when the Nova Delay was launched, this is from Sonicstate.com http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=4536

How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

I would second the BB preamp; an excellent pedal.

How can you use Mark I for both lead and cleaner rhythm?

Carlos Santana uses a TS9 Tubescreamer with his Mark I, and to my ears he uses it to good effect. The TS9, especially modded models such as Keeley, can get you some very saturated smooth lead tones from modestly distorted settings. Personally, I feel you should get a TS9 and try it out, I think...

    TC Electronic Nova Delay ND-1

Has anyone tested the new TC Electronic Nova Delay? The review on Harmony-central looked quite promising. How does it match up to the G-series effects units? Does anyone know where I can find any samples? http://www.tcelectronic.com/NovaDelay.asp

Which Mark amp to buy ?

Ibanez Jem and Peavey JSX are just two that spring to mind, but point taken.

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

The Thiele sounds almost perfect for my needs, but I'm wondering whether a 2x12 closed-back recto cabinet wouldn't suit me better? Well, this is the parculiar thing. When I bought the Mark IV the previous owner said that he had had it customised (god knows where) and that they had covered it...

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

Thanks for the feedback and opinions. I guess I'll be buying a 1x12 Thiele to try and even out the sonic spectrum. Just out of curiosity, what would a 2x12 do to my tone that a 1x12 wouldn't? And does anyone know where I can get a brown coloured Thiele cab? I don't think black would go with brown.

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

^ I'm quite happy with the heavy rhythm sounds of the amp, it's just that there does seem to be enough bottom end for soloing. I like the sound when it's working for me, I just feel there is something lacking sometimes. Like I said, after 2 years of perseverance I've come to the conclusion that...

Suspicious Mark IV auction on eBay

I bought my Mark IV from ebay but I insisted on driving about 200 miles to pick it up. There's no way I would trust someone to send something of that value without any buyer protection.

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

I'm after as much bass response as I can get (within reason). Keep us posted on how you get on with the Cornford cab. :)

    Mark IV headshell

I'm also considering converting my MKIVa combo into a head. Does anyone know anywhere in the UK that stocks MKIV head shells, perhaps a similar UK counterpart to www.vintageboogie.com ?

Which cab with a Mark IVA combo?

Which cab has the sweetest bass response for a Mark IVA combo amp? I'm considering whether to get a 1x12 (which I'm afraid won't give me enough 'body' to my tone) or a 2x12. Which of the following would best suit my requirements... http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/lonestar/71422...

    Mark IV lead gain

Here is my thoughts on the Mark IV lead channel hiss... When I was using a gold Ei 12ax7 in v1 position, I recieved absolutely no hiss whatsoever, no matter how loud I turned up the amp. The only down side to this, besides the fact that is was extremely dynamic and articulate, was that it...

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

Soz about the over-reaction. It was quite late and I was a little groggy, and my sarcasm detectors were a little bit below par. I mean, we are the pioneers of sarcasm after all. ;) I'm definately going to try it with an extension cab before I finally give up with it. At the moment I'm...

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

Fortunately, we don't live under the Nazi regime, so people have the right to voice their own opinions. Freedom of speach can be quite liberating, you should learn to cope with it sunshine. You seem to be quite the hypocrite, considering as you have a 2x12 to go with your Mark IV. Have you ever...

How childish. Has anyone got anything sensible to say?

Falling out of love with my Mark IV

I've recently come to the decision, after 2 years of trying to tweak the amp, that my Mark IV combo does not meet my requirments. I love the sweet, liquid sustain I can achieve from time to time, but more often than night I find the sound to thin, and grating to the ear. I have one of two...

    Bogner, Diezel or Cornford?

As a proud owner of a Mark IV combo, I'm looking to add another feather to my bow by investing in another amp. For a long time now I've had my eye on the Bogner ecstasy (Steve Vai's Fire Garden tone is one of my favourite guitar tones of all time) but I've also heard very good things about the...
